The Kenya ICT Board has set up a wiki, www.ict.go.ke/pashaconnect to generate awareness, debate and ideas on the concept of a Citizens Relationship Management portal. This is a follow up to the Connected Gov Summit recently held in Mombasa in which a Kenyan private sector technology firm, Seven Seas Technologies presented the concept to participants at the summit.
At the summit, the Kenya ICT Board in partnership with private sector players proposed the piloting of a Citizens Relationship Management (CRM) Portal project to enable the mwananchi to access non-emergency government information by dialing or texting one number, or visiting one website or emailing one address. The pilot is proposed as a PPP with private sector investment in the concept. Examples of this including www.NYC311.com
At the conclusion of the conference, PS Information and Communication Dr Ndemo, asked the Kenya ICT Board to prepare a concept paper on the same to allow for requisite approvals to be sought with respect to representation of government information by private sector.
Our setting up this wiki is in response to a suggestion made by one participant who followed proceedings via twitter to allow wider participation as the idea progresses to execution.
We encourage your input and participation.
