Kenya ICT industry gets a boost when it’s National ICT Master plan gets presented at the CIO African Summit. The Kenya ICT Board CEO, Mr Paul Kukubo, presents the document at the technology Summit— respected event for information technology professionals in Africa— that is taking place in South Africa’s, Capetown between the 17th and 19th April.Mr Kukubo is part of more than 160 delegates, majority of which are drawn from Africa’s top private firms gathered at the city designed specifically to help forward-thinking CIOs (Chief Information Officers) meet today's IT challenges while planning for those of tomorrow. Other Kenyan companies represented include Kenya Airways, Nakumatt,, Toyota Kenya, Kenya Railways Corporation, Diamond Trust Bank among others.
As well as comprehensive workshops, the summit holds panel discussions offering delegates moderated, peer-led discussions on major industry issues. One-to-one meetings gives delegates the chance to meet with business analysts and solution providers to discuss strategy and technology demands in a rapidly evolving business climate.
Mr Kukubo will be giving his keynote speech on the Kenya ICT journey as well as detailing the proposed National ICT Master Plan that was unveiled earlier this month at the Connected Kenya Summit.
The annual event that was conceptualized in 2009, aims at positioning African companies as global players, while helping CIOs make better IT investments, to place their organizations at a competitive advantage in the face of global challenges.
In 2010, the event was held at Nairobi, Safari Park hotel with Samuel Phogishio, the Minister of Information and Communication, giving the keynote address.
