Accessing government officials on time, getting state information fast, is a service most Kenyans yearn for.
And now there is a solution. A project named Government Unified Communication System will ensure that your calls get picked on time by the right person, and information is relayed to you speedily.  In the project, run through the Kenya ICT Board, 37 government offices will be issued with a total of 10,438 Telephony Endpoints, by December this year.
The new intelligent gadgets integrate voice and data in one network and will offer a centralised service across government departments. The devices are not only expected to cut costs, but also increase efficiency, drive transparency, and promote collaboration among government departments. The Government will also get to explore different ways to reach users in case they cannot be reached on the phone especially during emergency situations.
