Our Environment, Our Responsibility
Today, as we commemorate Mazingira Day 2026, the Ministry reaffirms our collective responsibility to protect, restore and sustainably manage our environment under the theme, “Our Environment, Our Responsibility: Collective Action for Tree Growing and Environmental Stewardship.”
As the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, the environmental conservation is a shared national responsibility that requires the commitment and active participation of every individual, institution and sector.
The Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital, H.E Hon. William Kabogo, EGH together with the Principal Secretary, State Department for Correctional Services, Dr. Salome Muhia-Beacco, and the CEO of the ICT Authority, Mr. Jesse Maruti, joined Kenyans in championing tree growing, environmental restoration and sustainable practices that safeguard our natural resources for present and future generations.
Through collective action and collaboration, the Ministry is contributing to Kenya’s ambitious target of growing 15 billion trees by 2032.
